Founder
Staffan Gadd, born in Stockholm 1934, was appointed as secretary to the Confederation of Swedish Industries between 1958 and 1961 when he joined Skandinaviska Banken in Stockholm.
In 1964 he became the London representative for Skandinaviska Banken and in 1969 he helped establish the Scandinavian Bankin London as Deputy Managing Director, to which he was then appointed Chief Executive in 1971. Staffan Gadd joined Samuel Montagu, one of UK’s leading merchant banks, in 1980 as Chief Executive and in 1982 was elected Chairman.
He founded Saga Securities Ltd. in 1986 and, in 1989, J.S. Gadd & Cie S.A. together with Christer Hegardt and Cristofer Gelli. Staffan also sat as Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK in later years, before passing away in January 2017.
